George » A Hurricane police officer who threatened to cite a woman for child neglect to get her to perform oral sex was sentenced Wednesday to 60 days in jail. Nathan Amosa –who resigned from the force last year — was charged in 5th District Court with first-degree felony forcible sodomy and two counts of second-degree felony forcible sex abuse for having sex with the woman at her home on March 29 2008. Amosa was on duty when the episode occurred. The woman told police “she felt she had to comply because he was in uniform and had a gun” according to a probable cause statement filed with the Washington County jail. Amosa pleaded no contest in June to a lesser count of third-degree felony custodial sexual relations.
