Watson said her property value dropped by more than half when her house was hit by a tornado sometime in the past 15 years. She repaired the house but never questioned the teeny tax bill. Watson’s neighbors paid $2000 to $6500 in city property taxes last year. But the councilwoman said she never wondered at her good fortune.
