Tornado warnings issued for Nashville area

A tornado warning has been issued for Davidson Cheatham and Williamson Counties. A warning indicates that a funnel cloud has either been spotted by a member of the public a law enforcement officer or detected by radar said Mike Girodo a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Nashville. The weather service has not confirmed a tornado touchdown. The severe weather is hitting Bellevue Franklin and West Meade now and will approach downtown Nashville shortly. Hail has been reported in Belle Meade.
