Saturday morning NBC 13 HD Meteorologist Richard Jacks along with personnel form the Birmingham- National Weather Service office tracked a strong line of storms that initially moved in from the northwestern part of the Birmingham metro area moving southeast toward the Lee County area and beyond. The NWS indicated a possible tornado touched down near the town of Auburn. pelika-Auburn News reports that traffic along U. Highway 280 was closed between Bleecker and Salem due to downed power lines and that there were several homes damaged in the area as well.
