Colorado State University forecasters Philip Klotzback and William Gray released a report this week in which they project that 14 named storms will make landfall with seven of them becoming hurricanes. Three of those they said would be Category three or above hence carrying winds of at least 111 miles per hour. The forecasters say there is also “an above-average major hurricane landfall risk in the Caribbean”. However Mr Klotzback cautioned that “there is a large amount of uncertainty with our early December prediction issued seven months prior to the start of the hurricane season”.
