November 30 2008 Marshall's season ends with close loss to Tulsa HUNTINGTON – Here's the Marshall football season in a nutshell: By Doug Smock Staff writer HUNTINGTON – Here's the Marshall football season in a nutshell:The Thundering Herd was fighting Conference USA contender Tulsa to a 35-35 tie in the fourth quarter Saturday when Golden Hurricane quarterback David Johnson fired high off receiver Trae Johnson's hands. The ball ricocheted into the secondary ripe for an interception. But no the pigskin instead fell into the hands of star receiver Brennan Marion who kept a hand under the ball to keep it from brushing against the turf. The 28-yard catch withstood video review and the Hurricane drove for a 22-yard Jarod Tracy goal to take home a 38-35 victory at Joan C.
