After Walker collided with Senators goalie Martin Gerber early in the second period of Carolina’s 6-0 loss Fisher fought Walker and cut him under the left eye. Walker head-butted Fisher earning a match penalty for attempt to injure. Fisher said he chipped one tooth and may have lost another. Walker was ejected from the game and now faces an automatic review from the NHL.

VDOT completes hurricane gate project

The gates located along the entry and exit ramps of interstates 64 and 664 are designed to allow lane reversals in the event of a evacuation declaration. The project ran from outside Richmond to Norfolk and Virginia Beach and began in mid-July. VDOT finished installing gates foundations guard rails and traffic controls December 8th a week ahead of schedule. The project was awarded to Johnson Controls and paid for through state and federal money.
