Orbitz does good deed after hurricane ruins newlywed trip
USA Today – Nov 15, 2007
Being college students we did not have much money but decided that our honeymoon would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip and we booked a package with orbitz. After Hurricane Wilma hit Cancun the area was heavily damaged and the hotel where we were going to stay was closed. With our honeymoon plans ruined we had to cancel the trip. We contacted Orbitz and were told we could receive a refund for the cost of our hotel but not the airfare from Miami to Cancun. Orbitz said we had to contact Mexicana but when we did Mexicana said we had to contact Orbitz. I spent hours going back and forth without getting anything resolved… Can you help?— A. TislauPort Orange Fla. Answer: Hurricane Wilma slammed the Yucatán Peninsula in October 2005 causing millions of dollars in damage and closing most of the region’s hotel rooms. By mid-December when the Tislaus were scheduled to visit only half the hotel rooms were open. The resort they had booked was partially re-opened Dec. 22 two days before they were to fly home and too late for their honeymoon. Orbitz refunded the resort portion of their trip but according to Orbitz representative Brian Hoyt Mexicana was responsible for handling the airfare refund request since technically the airline was the agent of record.

With frigid winters and near constant snows hot and spicy chicken wings can serve as an extra heating device like a radiator or electric blanket only far more delicious. So what are some of the best wings in the country doing in Florida? Two friends and I made a stop at Hurricane’s new outpost on Naples Boulevard to find out… Having great wings in the chilly Northeast makes perfect sense.
