JPS starts collection for hurricane recovery

According to Callum “extensive customer education on the matter could not have been done before the UR approval was received as there was no predicting what the regulator’s position on the application would have been”. She said customers have been advised of the adjustment primarily via a bill insert that is accompanying bills being dispatched in July. The hurricane cost recovery surcharge will be applied to bills beginning in July for an initial period of 24 months at a base rate of 7. This means that a typical residential customer using 200 kWh of electricity will pay an additional amount of just under $15 in July. Worst of Atlantic hurricane season still to come

In 2004 the first storm didn’t form until Aug. It ultimately became Hurricane Alex and kicked off one of the worst Atlantic seasons in decades. By mid-August that year there had been five storms. The entire 2004 season saw 15 storms including nine hurricanes. Four of them Charley Frances Ivan and Jeanne hit Florida. Each caused more than $6 billion damage and all four rank among the top 10 costliest storms in U… In 1998 the first storm didn’t form until July 29. That season produced 10 hurricanes including 155-mph (250-kph) Georges which battered Key West and 180-mph (290-kph) Mitch which killed more than 9000 people in Central America. In 1992 Hurricane Andrew the first storm of the season didn’t form until Aug. It devastated southern Florida to the tune of $25 billion and until Katrina in 2005 was the costliest hurricane in U.

Redfield’s work had a considerable influence on British researcher William Reid who experienced a deadly hurricane in Barbados in 1831 and later confirmed the rotational nature of storms with much additional data and on Henry Piddington a former ship commander and president of Marine Courts of Enquiry in Calcutta India. Piddington coined the term cyclone (meaning “coil of a snake”) and published a book for sailors detailing what he called the “Law of Storms” which provided tips on how to steer your vessel clear of a hurricane’s most powerful winds. In the Northern Hemisphere hurricane winds whirl in a counter-clockwise direction; in the Southern Hemisphere it’s the opposite. Redfield Piddington and their supporters didn’t understand the true reason for this (that would come later) but they recognized the value of such knowledge for safe navigation. In the Northern Hemisphere whichever direction a hurricane is heading its right front quadrant will be the most dangerous for a ship since the winds in this quadrant will have the storm’s own forward momentum behind them. In the Southern Hemisphere the reverse is the case. 27–The phrases “hide from wind” and “run from water” are associated with tropical storm and hurricane talk but those words of advice are not enough to show true love according to one meteorologist. “What better way to say ‘I love you’ than to give someone a weather radio?” meteorologist Tom Matheson of the National Weather Service told the more than 125 people who attended the inaugural Hurricane Preparedness Forum Thursday night at dell Williamson Auditorium. Matheson said early signs of above-average ocean temperatures.

n a few occasions at the surface the second stage got a bit lively which necessitated me having to detune it slightly but that’s what the adjusting knob is there for. For twin-set configurations the first stage is small and compact however the downside is that if you want to use a wireless transmitter you are restricted to just two low-pressure ports due to the close proximity of the high and low-pressure outlets to each other. All in all the Hurricane appears to be a reliably performing valve at a price that is on a par with the rest of the market.

CREW’s matrix is based on 25000 Department of State (DS) documents it received as a result of a lawsuit filed under the Freedom of Information Act in December 2005 for records relating to the federal government’s handling and acceptance of international offers of aid after Hurricane Katrina.
