County preparing for the worst this hurricane season

Because of the lessons learned in the past through major natural disasters such as hurricanes Katrina and Rita officials have arranged for volunteers and military personnel to arrive in the county at least 48 hours before a storm makes landfall. While there is already a set budget in place for funding storm preparation Cavazos said the county will provide the funding needed for emergency supplies no matter what should a hurricane strike. “We won’t have a defined budget during an emergency” said Cavazos.
