From 125 miles away in Salina the students watched with shock horror and sadness the television coverage showing the devastation their community had sustained when hit by the twister with winds estimated at more than 200 miles an hour. Now two weeks later 18-year-old Friesen and 24 of her classmates are preparing for an event that they had little hope of ever seeing after the May 4 tornado: graduation day.
