LHS sophomore center Bobby Capobianco led all scorers with 23 points including 13 in the first half. The Tigers broke open a close game late in the second quarter taking a 30-18 margin into the locker room at halftime. A trio of Hurricane players scored in double digits with non-starter Jordan Berlin’s 15 leading the way. Quinten Rollins and Derek Rice both scored 12 for the Hurricane and T. McNair helped spark the fourth quarter comeback with eight points all in the final period. Charlie Crist on Tuesday urged the Federal Emergency Management Agency to reconsider providing federal aid to hundreds of Volusia County residents displaced by the Christmas Day tornadoes. For many tornado victims federal assistance is their only hope for repairing their homes or moving on. “Local government and community assistance programs lack the resources necessary to fully address recovery and fulfill disaster housing needs” Crist wrote. “The FEMA Individual Assistance programs are designed and funded specifically to meet these needs. ” Federal officials couldn’t say when a decision on the appeal would be.
