Cougars shoot down Hurricane
Forrest City Times-Herald – Nov 24, 2006
Lambert’s three sliced the lead to 42-39 but Jonesboro’s LaDustin Williams made it 44-41 after the nation’s top junior Greg Monroe hit a layup. Monroe gave Helen Cox a 45-44 lead with 5:53 to play and the lead changed hands four times over the next minute before the Cougars stretched their lead to 51-48 with 3:40 to play. The Hurricane came up with a stop as Logan Nutt passed in to Chris Parks who wrapped a pass around underneath to Thomas for a bucket and a foul. Thomas’ free throw bounced off and Jonesboro led 52-51 with 1:16 to go. “People always say teams that press don’t like to be pressed” said Helen Cox head coach Tyron Mouzon. “We talked about it in our shootaround that we have to be strong with the ball and careful with the ball because I heard they had a very veteran team that loves to press you. We started making a lot of mental errors like putting the ball on the floor.
